Overhead diagram of the Tyrannosaur paddock in Jurassic Park by Sebatien Blier explains what many people wrongfully assume is a mistake in the movie: that the area where the goat stands (and where the T-rex breaks free) suddenly becomes a massive drop a few shots later.
In actuality, as demonstrated here, the area where the car is pushed over the cliff and lands in a tree, is a different spot from where the rex eats and escapes — the areas separated by a moat and sheer drop on the rex’s side of the fence.
